MAZE put together a day with 5 sets of music where space and time played major roles. The ring of Amsterdam, the architectural plans of Splendor Amsterdam, sound recordings from the city, acoustic phenomena and the space within a tone itself were all there. The adventurous ensemble BUI from Utrecht was our guest for both concerts. We played a premiere of new work by Fani Konstantinidou and works by Yannis Kyriakides, John Cage, Alvin Lucier, Tony Conrad/Reinier van Houdt and me.
We will be performing some of the repertoire throughout 2023 in Utrecht and Amsterdam.
